Andrew Sowers is one of the two founding partners of James Cooke Enterprises LLC.
After Cornell University and then the Stern School of Business at New York University, Andrew began a life time career in banking with Merrill Lynch. His career there mirrored the development of the stock market as a whole in the US. In particular, following Government legislation in the early 70’s, Andrew was part of the Merrill Lynch team responsible for developing what became one of the largest Institutional Brokerage businesses in the world.
During his time, he organised and led regular workshops, seminars and conferences on evolving economic, political and market trends for the Merrill Lynch staff and Merrill Lynch clients.
He has a life-long interest in philanthropic organisations – managing, leading and building them into robust and successful community participants. Andrew was President of his township’s lacrosse organisation at Ridgewood, New Jersey. He is currently the Treasurer and Board Member of the Humane Society of Vero Beach.
He retired from Merrill Lynch in 2000 and has since created Buttonwood Investment Management LLC, which still flourishes.
